It seems that there are a lot of people who can relate to that sentiment right now in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amidst job loss and unexpected home schooling. Amidst limits on toilet paper and hit and miss food selections. Amidst stay-at-home orders, and people who refuse to follow those orders and frighten people who have compromised immune systems.
And yet.
Just as seeds look dead but burst forth in life, so this dark time will be followed by a time of life and love and rejoicing - even if we do not know when and we do not know how it will all look.
